My Grandfather Radd Dew inherited the property that is now home to Ammons Cattle and Beef, which is used to produce top quality beef and livestock. Over the years the property has seen many changes and uses from a county store/gas station to a restaurant. Even with all the changes the cattle remained staple. In 2020 My wife Kendra and I purchased the property to start this adventure.
We only use the best bull genetics to produce the finest quality locally grown beef and livestock. Our focus in on Angus, Simangus, and Angus influenced cattle to provide marbling and flavor found in only the best beef. Our cattle’s welfare is of upmost importance. We are BQA (Beef Quality Assurance) certified. The means the cattle are provided with all the necessary vaccines, minerals, and vitamins needed for maintain a health herd. The cattle are only provided antibiotics when absolutely necessary and all withdrawn times are observed. Our cattle are at no time given any growth hormones or implants. They are also checked yearly and more often, if needed by our veterinarian. The steers are grass fed and grain finished. They are in our feed lot 45 to 60 days prior to processing to maximize weight gain where they are provided a feed ration consisting of grain and hay which helps increase marbling and flavor.
We only use a local processor Hemingway Locker Plant which takes pride in the quality they provide. All beef is aged 14 days or more to aid in creating the tenderness we all love. All cuts are expertly trimmed vacuum sealed to provide the longest shelf life. We hope that you and your family enjoy the beef and pork provided by Ammons Cattle.
